We are a general contractor that provides pre-construction, design-build, and construction management services for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients, we specialize in tilt-up construction. Our Company values guide everything we do, at Wales McLelland our values include Safety, Professionalism, Integrity, Respect, and Commitment.POSITION SUMMARY: The Tools Coordinator is responsible for tracking and coordinating tool maintenance, distribution, and procurement, developing and maintaining efficient storage and inventory tracking, and providing guidance on tool usage and care.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and update the inventory of tools and equipment, including tracking their availability, condition, and maintenance history.
  • Coordinate the allocation and distribution of tools and equipment to various teams and projects.
  • Complete and file documenation related to equipment and tool maintenance, mobilization, and demobilization.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained, serviced, and repaired as needed. Clean, grease, and inspect tools (changing filters, spark plugs, and oil).
  • Monitor compliance with safety standards and regulations related to tools and equipment, and escalate concerns.
  • Collaborate with procurement and vendors to purchase new tools and equipment as required, including negotiating prices.
  • Warehouse organization/management- develop and implement processes for the efficient storage, organization, and tracking of tools and equipment.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the quality, safety, and functionality of equipment, and address any issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Provide support and guidance to teams regarding the proper use and care of tools and equipment.
  • Utilize 360 camera/ Matter Port app for taking pics and MPEmbed app for customizing images.
  • Approve tools to be sent to construction sites and ensure compliance with Company guidelines and project requirements.
  • Review and process equipment requisitions on Sitemax, Lighthouse, or direct requests, maintaining clear and prompt communication with project teams and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize Sitemax to track equipment locations and usage time, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Complete daily deliveries of equipment, supplies, and materials to jobsites.
  • Participate in, and action distribution activities from, project start-up meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in tools management, inventory control, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to tools and equipment.
  • Comfortable with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Experienced in tool and equipment inventory management, such as demobilization and mobilization, material in and out, organization, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in using and learning software (Sitemax, Lighthouse, and MS Office suite) for tools management.
  • Class 5 license and willingness to travel in company trucks to different job sites for pick up and delivery (A drivers abstract is required as part of our screening process).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Supportive and helpful demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills to determine the need for new tools and repairs.
  • Bring new ideas for efficient inventory management of tools and equipment.
  • Willingness to pitch in where needed (e.g. ad hoc office maintenance).
  • Nice to have: heavy trailer endorsement, heavy equipment certification/experience/knowledge, forklift and skid steer tickets/experience.

Pay range: CAD $22 – $27 per hourPowered by JazzHR

Expected salary: $22 – 27 per hour
