You may from time to time be required to oversee our Mississauga branch. Experience in a Shipping Supervisory role in a high-volume manufacturing environment is a must.Responsibilities:

  • Quickly resolve any issues that may negatively impact deliveries or general warehouse operations.
  • Monitor daily activities within the shipping department.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve operations, focusing on cost reduction while maintaining excellent service levels.
  • Prioritize the expeditious movement of stock, ensuring it is always cleared from production lines.
  • Ensure all inspections and checklists are completed daily.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards within the department.
  • Develop weekly crew schedules.
  • Monitor and report on overtime.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Shipping Supervisory role in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experienced and Licensed Counterbalance forklift an asset
  • Supervisory or operations leadership experience within the steel industry is desirable
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities are essential
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills are essential
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks when needed
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and demonstrates the ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
