We promote leaders at every level and support our people to follow their passion.SCOPE OF POSITION:The Warehouse Supervisor position is accountable for shift ownership of a small size Distribution Centre. They provide the colleagues on their shift with direction, feedback, training and development, while maintaining compliance and good customer service.What you will do:OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT:

  • Ensure the efficient management of operations;
  • Address the team’s operational issues in a proactive manner;
  • Implement standardized processes and tools;
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of the team and proactively deal with issues as they arise;
  • Ensure the shift targets are met or exceeded;
  • Review operation scorecard.

LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Manage the ongoing adjustment of the workflow and schedule for the team;
  • Conduct daily huddle; provide ongoing coaching, training and development to team;
  • Provide individual performance management;
  • Review on floor activities and provide continual feedback;
  • Encourage a positive work culture that engages colleagues;
  • Work with shop stewards to resolve issues and concerns.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Ensure proper time with inbound/outbound;
  • Ensure proper quality, establish and maintain partnering relationship with transportation;
  • Establish and maintain partnering relationship with union representatives on daily basis;
  • Administer collective agreement.

FINANCE

  • Update payroll file;
  • Manage indirect hours.

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Identify hazards;
  • Ensure all national compliance (food safety, LAR, H&S, environmental);
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements, labour standards; ensure completion of Level 5 LVLC courses;
  • Arrange RTW programs;
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement among the team;
  • Champion and communicate continuous improvement ideas.

What you will need:

  • High School diploma
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • 1-3 years of Supervisory/Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills are an asset
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must have the ability to multitask
  • Strong organization skills would be an asset
