Job description: Job Description:Our client in Calgary is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, experience with Yardi software, intermediate Excel skills, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Provide support during audits and tax filings.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Ad-hoc duties as requested.
Requirements:Requirements:
- Post-secondary educations in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency with Yardi Voyageur.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Available to start immediately.
