Job description: Job Description:We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client’s team in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting while providing strategic insights to support organizational goals. You will also lead process improvement initiatives and offer guidance to the finance team to ensure smooth operations and compliance with accounting standards.Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.

• Analyze financial performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and present actionable insights.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with business leaders to understand financial needs and provide strategic recommendations.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

• Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in partnership with operations and financial planning teams.

• Evaluate financial performance against budgets and metrics, offering insights to drive decision-making.

• Lead and mentor finance team members, providing direction, coaching, and performance assessments.

• Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.

• Implement best practices in financial management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• CPA designation preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and US GAAP.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.

• At least 2 years of experience in a finance business partner or similar role.

• Proficiency in financial reporting and month-end close processes.

• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.

• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.

• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively guide and collaborate with teams.

Expected salary: $140000 – 160000 per year
