Job description: Overview:Are you ready to take the next step in your career with a dynamic and growing organization? We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team for a contract role, 6-months in duration. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the Director, Operations and ensuring the success of our operational accounting functions. Responsibilities:

• Review monthly account reconciliations prepared by managers and leads for AP, AR, inventory, and other balance sheet items.
• Analyze vendor-by-vendor expense reports prepared by managers and leads on a monthly basis.
• Oversee revenue reconciliations completed by the revenue lead each month.
• Support the implementation of best practices for AR, AP, and inventory management across international locations.
• Assist in the rollout of SOX controls in collaboration with managers, leads, and external partners (e.g., Big 4 firms).
• Manage all operational accounting requirements for the Canadian business.
• Serve as a backup for managers/leads in critical areas, including AP, AR, inventory, and balance sheet management.
• Partner with area managers, managing directors, and operations teams to develop more robust weekly and monthly reporting frameworks.
• Act as a hands-on expert user of the ERP system, leveraging it to drive data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and process improvements.
• Challenge existing processes professionally, using tact and diplomacy to communicate opportunities for change to managers and leads.
• Provide critical support to Directors and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A CPA or CGA designation.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, with demonstrated success in operational accounting.
• Proven leadership skills, including the ability to manage and develop accounting teams with an offshore presence.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with the ability to optimize reporting and efficiencies.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
