Our client in Calgary is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will be a strong full-cycle accountant with experience leading small teams.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Perform journal entries, reconciliations and reporting activities ensuring the daily, monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time
• Perform analysis of various accounting issues; resolve and implement new procedures
• Lead a team of 6-8 direct reports, reviewing their work and managing performance.
• Work with external auditors, human resources, and other business unit leaders to understand the business and communicate pertinent information in a concise manner.
• Build a relationship of trust with the parent company’s accounting team and work collaboratively on reporting

Your strengths include:

• Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, or other relevant fields
• A CPA designation is required
• 1 to 2 years relevant experience in full cycle accounting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
