Job description: Job Description:THE ROLE:Are you an experienced Controller seeking a meaningful opportunity with a leading nonprofit organization? Our client is looking for a highly skilled financial professional to commit to a 6-month contract and play a pivotal role in both day-to-day operations and strategic planning. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with a strong background in fund accounting, team supervision, and process improvement, combined with exceptional technical skills in ERP systems and advanced Excel functionalities.Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing recommendations regarding the optimal structure of the group to enhance financial operations and organizational impact
• Managing day-to-day accounting activities and reporting, including quarterly financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely outcomes.
• Training and support for accounting staff, including those handling Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Payroll. Overseeing the work of bookkeepers while providing mentorship and leadership
• Working towards operational efficiency by implementing and optimizing financial processes and workflows
• Leveraging ERP systems and advanced Excel functionality (pivot tables, lookups) for data analysis and reporting

• Accounting Designation (CPA or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Controller, ideally within nonprofit organizations
• Expertise in fund accounting specific to nonprofit entities
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Excel (pivot tables and lookups)
• Strong background in process improvement to enhance operational efficiency
• Sound knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping best practices
• Leadership and team management experience, with a focus on staff training and support
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Solid problem-solving ability and experience to thrive in a dynamic work environment
