Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Finance Manager located within Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario or Saskatchewan to join our team. Opportunities for hybrid work are available.Job Summary:Reporting to the Regional Finance director, you will partner with Operations to drive financial performance and compliance. In this role, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the business line’s operating environment and projects and manage a small team.Major Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.
- Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
- Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
- Manages the coordination of activities of a group or department with responsibility for results. In some instances, may be responsible for functional area and does not have direct reports or subordinate employees.
- Provide financial insights to Business Line management, focusing on enhancing working capital, operating cash flow, and P&L performance.
- Monitor, report, and analyze financial performance for operational and project-related activities, offering support to project teams.
- Identify and communicate risks and opportunities, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, AECOM policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain effective controls related to AECOM’s SOX program.
- Collaborate with Operations to create the annual financial plan and monthly forecasts.
- Mentor and manage the performance and career development of direct reports.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and contribute to broader finance initiatives.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
- Gain a thorough understanding of key contractual agreements with clients and assist in developing models and strategies for large, complex project bids.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess no less than:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field, plus 10 (ten years of relevant financial management experience and 2 (two) years in leadership.
- Professional accounting designation, such as CPA.
Preferred Requirements:
- Financial management experience in a professional services or project-based environment.
- Proven experience building relationships with operational leaders and project teams, influencing business decisions and outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen, along with excellent financial modeling and business analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data effectively.
- Ability to adapt to and drive change.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate and influence at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team.
- Strategic mindset, ability to embrace change, foster innovation, and consistently seek opportunities for improvement.
