Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, the Financial Accountant – External Reporting will play a key role in preparing external financial reports and meeting continuous disclosure obligations.
This role is ideal for a CPA with a strong technical foundation, a passion for getting the numbers right, and the confidence to take ownership from day one.What You’ll Do

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and MD&A with precision and insight
• Research and write accounting memos for complex transactions and new IFRS accounting standards
• Support disclosure consistency across external reports
• Own journal entries and reconciliations (leases, financial instruments, share-based comp)
• Be the first line of contact for external auditors
• Contribute to internal control design and documentation
• Drive improvements in processes and leveraging financial reporting sytems
• Tackle ad hoc projects with curiosity and accountability

What You Bring

• CPA designation and a sharp understanding of IFRS and securities regulations
• Experience with internal controls and integrated audits
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think big picture
• Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and inform
• A proactive mindset and drive to continuously improve
• Oil & gas experience is a definite asset
