The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting for major capital projects, joint venture transactions, and cash managementWhat You Get To Do:

• Responsible for detailed accounting of the division’s capital projects, including:

• Tracking overall expenditures by individual projects, project phases, and ensuring accurate accounting of the individual assets being developed
• Ensuring material and service receipts and accruals are captured within the system on a timely basis
• Performing timely GL and Project Level tracking and reconciliations
• Maintaining fixed asset module
• Tracking outstanding accruals and commitments for integration into the company’s overall cash forecasts
• Ensuring the timely and accurate accounting of intracompany transactions such as:

• Tracking fixed assets and additions for income and property tax purposes
• Services received from affiliate companies
• Recovering costs as contractually required from JV partners and customers
• Ensuring appropriate accounting treatment under IFRS for each legal entity (such as inter and intracompany profit eliminations)
• Champion for continual improvements, automating processes, and ensuring best accounting practices are always followed by project team members across the company
• Develops and maintain tools to track capital expenditures, expenditure forecasts and cash outlays
• Tracks cash flows and balances and forecast within joint venture and partnership accounts
• Recommends adjustments to timing for cash injections into joint venture and partnership accounts to ensure most efficient use of company funds

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting or Finance
• Finance or Accounting designation or in pursuit of e.g., Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Professional Accountant (CPA)
• Minimum 5 year Project Accountant, Fixed Asset Accountant, Operations Accountant, Financial Analyst, Capital Accountant experience
• Demonstrated IFRS knowledge
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Oracle Fusion and Excel. Power BI would be an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
