Job description: Job Description:Our client, a well-established organization in Calgary’s energy sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Joint Venture (JV) Accountant for a contract position. This role will support ongoing accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with joint operating agreements.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly JV billings, cash calls, and variance explanations.
- Process and reconcile joint interest transactions and allocations.
- Review and ensure accuracy of JV charges, overhead recoveries, and non-operated billings.
- Coordinate with other departments on JV accounting issues.
- Respond to internal and external audit requests related to JV activities.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies, joint operating agreements, and industry standards.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting for joint venture activities.
Requirements:Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant JV accounting experience.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong understanding of joint venture agreements
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Available to start immediately.
