Kohl & Frisch is fully equipped to service large chain retailers, independent pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals for all their Rx, OTC, home healthcare, and front shop needs.Primary Role of This Position Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Manager, Finance & Risk will support the Finance team in executing financial reporting, monthly analysis, treasury, special projects, and business initiatives and will lead the role of Risk Management overseeing the Company’s insurance programs.Major Responsibilities Insurance Management:

  • Responsible for overseeing the Company’s insurance policies including corporate insurance policies and employee benefit policies
  • Review, evaluate and complete insurance applications and renewals to determine policy and endorsement risks, insurance premiums, and extent of available insurance coverages
  • Evaluate insurance coverage options, negotiate terms and maintain relationships with insurance providers
  • Ensure Kohl & Frisch’s Insurance program appropriately covers business risk and that risk mitigation and contingency plans are in place
  • Responsible for preparing and managing associated Company insurance programs budgets
  • Coordinate claims processing and ensure timely resolution of insurance-related issues internally and externally
  • Primary liaison with external insurance partners
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in insurance management

Treasury:

  • Primary backup for the treasury function, including daily borrowing, revolver loan payback, managing daily cash flow and liquidity
  • Monitor and forecast cash positions, borrowing needs, available funds, interest rate analysis
  • Support the treasury functions by developing and implementing treasury policies and procedures
  • Support the Finance team on monthly Lender compliance reporting

Financial Analysis, Reporting and Administration:

  • Assist in the preparation of key components of the annual financial budget
  • Consolidate budget information and analyze to actuals for consistency and reasonableness with communication to key personnel
  • Assist in month-end accounting – journal entries, accruals, and analysis leading to adjusting entries
  • Managing rental agreements and liaison with external management
  • Assist on special projects, process improvements and other functions to successfully implement recommendations
  • Lead and contribute to special projects as required to drive positive change in Finance and the business
  • Other areas of Finance administration as required

Education and Experience

  • University degree in Finance and Business Administration and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA)
  • 5+ years managerial experience
  • Experience in Financial Accounting, Insurance, Risk Management and Treasury
  • Experience coaching and providing direction to staff in either a direct or indirect supervisory position
  • Experience in a mid to large-sized manufacturing or distribution company

Qualifications

  • Strong quantitative/financial and qualitative analytical skills; ability to organize and analyze/synthesize a significant amount of exposure data and risk information
  • An independent thinker and strong problem-solver
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to explain complex issues in simple terms
  • Detail-oriented and deadline driven
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage/participate in multiple, concurrent work streams
  • Outstanding time management and organizational capabilities with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, dealing with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong business process acumen with ability to clearly identify issues and work with other functions to address changing business requirements or process improvements
  • Expert skills in the full Microsoft Suite with particular emphasis on Excel and Access would be an asset
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • ERP systems experience
