Job description: Manager, Financial ReportingVancouver, BCAbout the client:Our client has six producing mines in Latin America. We are looking for a CPA who has experience in the mining sector or with another publicly listed company to oversee their Financial Reporting. Experience with a Latin American company and some Spanish language skills are preferred.Great leadership team and open to hybrid work after probation.Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and MD&A;
- Manage the financial reporting process including providing support and guidance to mine site accounting staff in Bolivia and Mexico to independently resolve issues and review reporting packages provided by the sites;
- Prepare the group consolidation, and supporting working papers;
- Prepare accounting memos for new and/or complex transactions;
- Support the preparation of the consolidated tax provision;
- Support the preparation of annual Canadian tax returns;
- Coordinate with the Company’s external auditors, tax advisors, and various other service providers;
- Ad hoc duties and tasks as assigned by the Corporate Controller.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) designation required
- Experience working for Public Companies is required
- Must have experience in a publicly traded company with financial reporting
- 2 years industry experience with publicly traded company is required
- Minimum of 5 years experience post CPA designation is required
- Experience in the mining sector is preferred
- Spanish speaker is preferred
