Job description: Jardeg is recruiting Millwright Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors Outage Program at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi, commissary and much. The successful candidate would be working 11.5 hours per day, for the duration of the project until completion. Overtime shall apply for all hours worked in excess of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Competitive rates, opportunities to move around the plant and working with a team with a “safety first” mindset make this role ideal!Millwrights install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in sites such as factories, production plants and recreational facilities.Responsibilities:Read diagrams, schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work proceduresOperate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and partsFit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerancesAlign and test equipment and make any necessary adjustmentsPerform predictive and operational proceduresRepair or replace defective partsService and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systemsMay do some tack welding (a weld that is adequate in size to temporarily hold components in place until it can be completely welded by a registered apprentice welder or a journeyperson welder) and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.Minimum Requirements:Millwright Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red SealCommon Safety Orientation (CSO)Standard First Aid (Level A or C)Basic Rigging (In-person course)ESC Wood Buffalo Wildlife OrientationESC Fall ProtectionESC Confined SpaceSatisfactory Drug & Alcohol TestMask Fit TestValid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseOther safety ticket(s) and orientation(s) required, as per the project teamMust be legally entitled to work in Canada#JYPCOME AND GET YOUR BOOTS DIRTYWith a significant presence in the construction, industrial maintenance, and turnaround sectors, Jardeg is the largest recruiter of skilled trades in Canada.
