Job description: SummaryAn Operational Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance within an organization. They focus on enhancing efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes while mentoring junior team members. this position requires strong analytical skills and a commitment to continuous improvement, making it essential for maintaining robust financial practices in the company.Main Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly accounting procedures for fixed assets/IFRS 16 lease assets in terms of depreciation, acquisition and disposition per the established Colas accounting policy.
• Perform monthly inventory valuation, consumption, and reconciliation for the manufacturing division.
• Conduct month end GL analysis and address the major discrepancies to the controller
• Assist in the preparation of various financial reporting.
• Assist in the bi-annual budget process, including uploading the budget to JDE.
• Assist in the quarter-end and year-end audit process and prepare the needed documentation.
• Identify potential opportunities for improvement in existing workflow processes, such as internal reporting to improve accuracy, productivity, and efficiency.
• Provide mentorship to Junior accountant.
• Ad hoc projects and reporting assigned by Controller.

Desired Qualifications

• University degree in accounting or accounting diploma plus 4+ years of progressive accounting working experience.
• Accounting experience in manufacturing or construction industries preferred.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and procedures in IFRS.
• Strong Excel skills (vlookups/index match, sumifs, what-if analysis, Power Query etc
• Excellent Experience of using Microsoft flows to streamline the process will be considered a great asset
• Excellent mindset for continuous improvement and willingness for learning new skills to improve efficiency
• Experience with JDE, JWS, reportsnow and onbase will be considered as great asset
• Overtime may request occasionally during month end
• Attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and ethics.
