Maintenance Service Worker 1 (MSW1) – Park Maintenance Worker:
Based on 40 hours per week: $20.14 – $24.22 per hourIn addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:

• 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
• 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.

In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:

• $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays.
• $2.75 per hour for evenings.

Individual will be part of a team accountable for providing regular maintenance and operational duties that support the day-to-day operation of campgrounds, day use areas, facilities and trail systems.We are currently looking to hire:Hinton – William A. • Park Maintenance Worker.

As a Park Maintenance Service Worker (MSW1), duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Performing landscaping and site servicing of campgrounds, day use areas and facilities.
• Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment.
• Conducting water testing for small water systems.
• Operating equipment such as mowers, trimmers, pressure washers, ATVs, UTVs.
• Assisting with trail maintenance, beach and dock maintenance.
• Installing and maintaining signage.
• Painting.
• Reporting all maintenance concerns accordingly.
• Assisting with hazard tree management and invasive plant management programs.
• Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent occupational health & safety (OH&S) policies, procedures and protocols; and with the Facility Emergency Response Plan and protocols.
• Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and online courses.

Maintenance Worker in William A. Switzer: Will be required to assist Park Caretakers in performing daily janitorial duties of park facilities (i.e. washrooms, outhouses, picnic shelters, shower houses), garbage and recycling removal, campsite and group site cleaning.Position will require you to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. You have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week. • Some high school education or directly related experience based on one year of experience for one year of education.

Additional Assets to be successful in any of the roles:

• Experience with hand and power tools; good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and safety of small equipment.
• Experience working in custodial, landscaping, or similar positions.
• Chainsaw certification.
• Exceptional communication skills and comfort level in dealing with difficult customer interactions or complaints.
• Experience working within a campground setting.

Additional Requirements:

• A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Final candidates will be required to provide a standard 3-year Driver’s Abstract prior to commencement. Depending on location, may require a 5-year commercial Driver’s Abstract.
• Prior to hire, recognized current intermediate Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”/AED Certificate will be needed.

• Early June start date to September end date.

For the position:

• Access to reliable transportation to and from place of work.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent will be required.
• Final Candidates will be required to provide a standard 3-year Driver’s Abstract prior to commencement. Depending on location, may require a 5-year Commercial Driver’s Abstract. (Will be reimbursed).
• Prior to hire, recognized current Intermediate Standard First Aid and CPR Level “C”/AED Certificate will be required for both positions.
• Adherence to Alberta Parks Uniform Policy; all personal protective equipment is provided. Certified Safety footwear is not provided, but candidates will be reimbursed for a portion of the cost.
• This position will require outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Training sessions at the beginning of employment are mandatory.
• Staff housing is not available.
