Job description: Safety SpecialistOur client is searching for a Safety Specialist to join their team. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies in alignment with government regulations and company standards. A successful candidate will foster a strong safety culture by providing training, conducting inspections, and leading incident investigations.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
• Lead incident and near miss investigations and provide detailed reports
• Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for all employees
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, and inspections
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and industry regulations
• Act as a key point of contact for all safety-related matters within the company
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments

Your strengths include:

• Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a safety focused role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industrial settings
• Strong knowledge of local and federal OH&S regulations
• Valid safety certifications such as COR, First Aid, WHIMIS, etc. are an asset
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead training sessions and engage with employees at all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Safety Management systems
