Job description: ShareTop JobLocated in Sarnia, ONSalary: $100,000/YearWe are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our client’s team for an 18-month contract.Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution; CPA designation required
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably in the chemical manufacturing or oil and gas industries
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
• Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills
• Proficiency with SAP systems is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist in the preparation of monthly journal and consolidating entries
• Conduct month-end analyses with a focus on revenue recognition
• Prepare and analyze ad-hoc financial information requests, identifying trends and variances
• Assist with special projects and year-end activities, including audit inquiries
• Manage and prioritize accounting initiatives effectively
• Recommend improvements to accounting and operational procedures, assessing their impacts on various departments
• Foster strong relationships and collaboration across different departments
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and operational team members as needed
• Ensure compliance with established departmental processes and procedures supporting internal controls
• Identify and report deficiencies in internal controls to department management
