With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.Summary:AGAT Laboratories is hiring an established Senior Accountant to be based out of our Calgary corporate office. The Senior Accountant is a critical position in our Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant is responsible for many aspects of the day-to-day Accounting operations, financial reporting and budgeting. This position is given direction from the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Financial and management analysis and reporting.
• Financial support and act as finance interface for other departments.
• Daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Preparation of journal entries and monthly G/L reconciliations.
• Revenue Projections.
• Review of A/P payments.
• Processing of GST/HST/QST filings.
• Preparation of budgets.
• Other tasks as reasonably expected.

Qualifications:

• CPA Designation or in final stages nearing completion.
• Degree or diploma in finance or accounting.
• Customer Service Experience as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills, strong Excel, accounting and purchasing software experience required.
• 5 + years’ experience in an Accounting role.
• Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Ability to work independently. Planning, organization, analysis and decision making skills required.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
• Good problem solving skills.
• Excellent negotiating skills.
