Job description: Job Description:We are offering an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role involves participating in month end financial reporting and oversight for multiple businesses within the corporate sector.Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accurate and efficient preparation of month-end financial reports

• Handle the recording and posting of daily journal entries, and complete General Ledger account reconciliations

• Ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of continuity schedules

• Manage GST filings and remittances, ensuring completion within required timelines

• Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and support packages for external auditors, including responding to inquiries

• Prepare various tax-related schedules

• Perform other related duties and projects as directed by senior financial officials.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis

• Apply skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records

• Participate in Month End Close activities and prepare Month-end Journal Entries and Month-end Reports

• Conduct Monthly Account Reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.

• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are crucial.

• Experience with Month End Close processes is necessary.

• Proficiency in preparing Month-end Financial reports is required.

• Knowledge and experience with Month-end Journal Entries is a must.
