Job description: Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 08/16/2025About this opportunity:Cenovus Energy is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, External Reporting who will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and review of the interim and annual Consolidated Financial Statements, the management’s discussion and analysis (“MD&A”), Supplemental Information, Annual Information Form (“AIF”), and backup documentation and working papers, as required. This role also includes the preparation and review for various ad hoc projects and filings.What you’ll do:Preparation of the interim and annual Consolidated Financial StatementsAssist with the preparation and/or review of the MD&A, Supplemental Information, AIF, Financial Metrics, and ad hoc reporting as neededPrepare and review back-up documentation and working papersPartner with the numerous teams across the company to deliver accurate, transparent and insightful financial reporting and analysisReview other external reporting documents for consistencySupport overall compliance with SOX processes and controlsWho you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in CanadaChartered Professional AccountantMinimum 8 in external reporting or relevant experience.Oil and gas or Accounting firm experience is considered an assetMotivated individual with a positive attitude and a demonstrated ability to execute in a time-constrained environmentStrong analytical skills, problem solving and decision-making capabilitiesExtensive knowledge of IFRS and Continuous Disclosure requirementsExperience with WDesk and an ERP system (SAP) is an assetWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT August 15, 2025.Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to resolving next steps.Cenovus was ranked one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2025.
