Job description: Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 08/25/2025About this opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, Saskatchewan Geoscience, the Senior Geoscience Technologist will work in a multi-disciplinary team that is focused on the identification, optimization, and development of drilling opportunities across our Conventional Heavy Oil Assets. This role will support multiple assets in both Saskatchewan and Alberta working with Geologists and Geophysicists to ensure Geoscience development goals are met.What you’ll do:Provide technical support while using database management to provide consistent and reliable information to the teamMaintain and grow geological databases (formations, LAS, core analysis, etc.), upholding the data integrity of our projects and internal Spotfire/Power BI dashboardsLoad and maintain quality control of seismic, geological field data and interpreted data setsAssist in the creation of critical geoscience outputs including but not limited to, constructing cross sections, creating structure, net pay, saturation, and porosity mapsRetrieve and organize core and fluid analyses as well as completions dataSupport the use of petrophysical software to prepare maps and reports on reservoir quality, data coverage and volumetricsWho you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in CanadaGeoscience or Petroleum Technology diploma is an assetMinimum 8 years of geoscience experienceExperience with oil and gas software such as Petrel, Geographix, ArcGIS, Generwell, Seisware, and Power BIAdvanced experience working with subsurface geoscience data (Wells, Tops, Core, LAS, SEGY, etc.)We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT August 24, 2025.Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to resolving next steps.Cenovus was ranked one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2025.
