Job description: Job Description:Our Edmonton-based client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their finance team through a period of operational backlog and increased reporting demands. This role is well-suited for a seasoned professional with strong financial knowledge, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions in alignment with GAAP
• Perform full-cycle accounting, including AP and AR
• Support bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain the general ledger and prepare trial balances
• Assist with budgeting at the individual level
• Handle complex reporting requirements tied to classified funders
• Investigate discrepancies and perform data analysis
• Clear backlog and contribute to higher reporting standards

Requirements:Qualifications:

• 10+ years of accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, data analytics)
• Working knowledge of payroll; ADP experience is an asset but not required
• Currently pursuing a CPA designation
• Strong perseverance, attention to detail, and financial acumen
• Available to start immediately
