Job description: We are inviting applications for the position of Staff Accountant based in North York, Ontario. This role is integral to our team, focusing on the processing and reconciliation of financial transactions, preparation of financial statements and reports, and administration of payroll taxes and GST/HST. The successful candidate will be adept at maintaining confidentiality, and possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.Responsibilities include:

• Accurate processing and recording of financial transactions
• Preparation and filing of GST/HST and payroll taxes
• Administration of accounts receivable and payable
• Regular reconciliation of bank accounts
• Preparation of financial statements and detailed reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Ensuring accuracy, correctness, and completeness of financial data
• Application of accounting principles, regulations, and policies to all work duties
• Maintenance, verification, and updating of various ledgers
• Providing assistance with invoice processing and payments
• Provision of general office support including filing and other administrative tasks
• Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting
• Proficient in account reconciliation
• Experienced in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Must have a good understanding of billing procedures
• Proficient in data entry tasks
• Experience in invoice processing is required
• Must be skilled in using Microsoft Excel for accounting purposes
• Familiarity with Oracle is a must
• Experience in using QuickBooks for accounting processes
• Proficient in SAP for managing accounting tasks
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
• Must have a strong ethical code and respect for confidentiality
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
