Job description: Job Description:We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our client’s public practice firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, an interest in public accounting, and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial services to our clients. As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with a team of professionals to provide a variety of accounting services, including preparation of financial statements, tax returns, audits, and client communication. This role will be fully on site.Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial statements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.
- Assist with the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, including research of tax issues and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Participate in audit engagements, including planning, testing, and report preparation, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulations.
- Perform monthly and year-end close procedures for clients, including reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, general ledger entries, and adjustments.
- Assist with financial analysis and budgeting, providing insights and recommendations to clients.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial data, address inquiries, and provide assistance as needed.
- Support senior staff in the preparation of tax planning strategies, business advisory services, and other special projects.
- Keep up to date with accounting and tax law changes, and continuously develop knowledge in the field.
- Participate in the preparation and review of workpapers to support client deliverables and tax filings.
- Handle multiple client assignments while maintaining deadlines and producing high-quality work.
Requirements:
- Enrolled in the CPA program
- Experience with tax preparation, auditing, and accounting software is desirable.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and financial practices (e.g., for nonprofit, real estate, or healthcare clients) is a bonus.
- 2-3 years experience in a firm

- Receive 25% revenue of all new business they bring in
Expected salary: $65000 – 75000 per year
